Tiger’s Greatest Putt
A stunning collage to celebrate arguably the greatest putt and certainly one of the greatest moments in the phenomenal career of Tiger Woods.
Standing on the 18th green in the final round of the 2008 US Open on the South Course at Torrey Pines, Tiger Woods was faced with a 15 foot putt for birdie to join Rocco Mediate in a playoff. Given the enormous pressure of the situation, the bumpy treacherous surface after 72 holes of tournament play and a few inches of break – this truly was an incredibly difficult putt.
Close up TV images showed how much the ball bumped and bobbled en route to the hole, but it caught enough of the right lip of the hole to drop in - the celebrations that followed as Tiger pumped his fists in delight have become some of the most iconic images in golf.
Tiger Woods would go on to win the 18 hole playoff the following day, which itself needed extra holes to decide the winner, to claim his 14th major title. The win was all the more remarkable as Tiger had to take a break from the game after the win to have knee surgery.
The collage is available as 3 separate 12” x 8” photographic prints, as a 32” x 17” frame ready mount or fully framed at approx. 35” x 20”.
