Jonah Lomu – “World Beater” a stunning collage of images capturing the awesome stature, speed and power of arguably the most popular rugby player in the history of the sport. Jonah Lomu burst on to the scene during the 1995 Rugby World Cup in South Africa, most notably by scoring 4 tries to crush England in the semi-final.
The collage illustrates his dominance against almost any defences he encountered – flattening players attempting to stop him powering towards the try line. The collage includes images of him against all the home nations – England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales together with France and Australia.
Although New Zealand lost in the final to hosts South Africa, Jonah Lomu was the stand out player of the 1995 tournament. He produced another phenomenal performance during the 1999 World Cup and remains the leading try scorer, alongside flying South African wing Bryan Habana, in World Cup history with 15 tries.
A rare kidney condition would limit his international career and sadly cause his untimely death at the age of 40 in 2015. His performances throughout his career, most notably the World Cup semi-final in 1995 have inspired a generation of rugby players throughout the world and helped launch rugby in to the professional era.
The collage is available as 6 single 9” x 6” photographic prints, frame ready mounted 43.5” x 13.5” and fully framed 46.5” x 15.5”. The mounted only and framed versions both come with the caption information in place.
