Having signed his first professional contract with Saracens in 2012, Maro Itoje debuted for The Men in Black the following year. Dominant, confident and composed out on the pitch, Maro Itoje became a standout figure in the rugby world and received his first call-up to the England team in 2016 ahead of the annual Six Nations Championship. During the tournament, he was made Man of the Match following his first-team debut against Italy. England later went on to win the Grand Slam.

Throughout his career to date, Maro Itoje has won four English Premiership titles with Saracens, three European Rugby Champions Cup titles, and three Six Nations Championship titles. During the Six Nations 2017, Maro Itoje was part of a tournament win which saw England lift the cup for the second year running. He started all five games at blindside flanker rather than in his more usual position in the second row. Such diversity showed Maro Itoje to be a great team player.

His World Cup appearance in the 2019 Japan World Cup Against New Zealand confirmed Maro Itoje to be one of the best players in the world. He was named Man of the Match having made two tackles, three turnovers and winning seven lineouts.
