Son of Tongan international Fe’ao and brother to England front row Mako Vunipola, Billy is part of a family praised for their incredible skills on the pitch. Qualifying for England through residency after his father moved to Wales to play for Pontypool, Billy Vunipola made his debut for the side back in 2013 and won his first eight Test caps consecutively.

Appointed as one of three vice captains to Dylan Hartley under head coach Eddie Jones, Billy played a significant role in England’s Grand Slam win, being named Man of the Match against Scotland, Ireland and France. Billy Vunipola also helped England become consecutive champions in the 2017 Six Nations and was part of the 2019 Six Nations lineup.

At club level, Billy Vunipola kicked off his career with Wasps Academy. In 2013, he moved over to Saracens where he has since won four Premiership titles in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019. Vunipola starred in all four finals, scoring a try in the 2018 final. He also played a significant role in Saracens winning the European Champions Cup in 2016, 2017 and 2019, scoring a try in the 2019 final.

From a rugby mad family, it’s clear talent on the pitch is in Billy Vunipola’s blood. While his father and uncle played for the Tongan international team, his cousin Taulupe Faletau has been capped by Wales and the British & Irish Lions. Brother Mako is a Saracen and England teammate. Younger cousin Manu made his senior Saracens debut in the 2018/19 campaign.
