2014 Ireland Six Nations Championship Winners Team Special. By the time the 2014 Six Nations reached the final afternoon – 3 teams – England, Ireland and France went into “Super Saturday” with a chance of claiming the title. England narrowly failed to overhaul Ireland’s vastly superior points difference in the first game of the day meaning that an Irish win over France by any margin would give them the title. In a pulsating, brutally physical encounter Ireland prevailed with a dramatic 22-20 win to secure the Six Nations Championship.
The game, and indeed the season, was for Ireland played against the emotional backdrop of the retirement of arguably their greatest ever player Brian O’Driscoll. The Championship decider in Paris was a world record 141st international appearance for O’Driscoll and his final game in the green jersey of Ireland. The win proved to be the perfect fairytale ending of his glittering career.
The montage contains images of the players who took part of the championship together with the scenes of celebration after the win in Paris, including a photo of Brian O’Driscoll and captain Paul O’Connell with the trophy.
The montage is available as a photographic print, mounted or mounted and framed. The print only option is a single 28” x 20” photographic print with all the player names and captions in place.
