1995 Jonah Lomu runs over Mike Catt

The 1995 Rugby World Cup was the event that launched “Man Mountain” Jonah Lomu as a global sporting superstar. The giant All Black wing described as a “freak” by England captain Will Carling literally trampled over England in an iconic performance in the semi final game at Newlands in Cape Town where New Zealand thrashed England 45-29 with Jonah Lomu scoring an incredible 4 tries. The image of him running over England’s Mike Catt is the abiding (and amusing) visual memory of that phenomenal performance.
