Chris Froome 2016 Tour de France Champion Special
A stunning collage to celebrate Chris Froome winning his historic 3rd Tour de France title.
By winning the Tour de France 3 times (2013, 2015 & 2016) he joins an exclusive list of cycling greats to win at least 3 tours – Phillipe Thys (3), Louison Bobet (3), Greg Lemond (3), Jacques Anquetil (5), Bernard Hinault (5), Eddy Merckx (5) and Miguel Indurain (5 – consecutive)
The General Classification standings results at the end of the tour show a dominance over his rivals, a show of strength to world’s top riders, with a winning margin of over 4 minutes. However his journey to the top of the podium was not without drama – the unforgettable scenes on Mont Ventoux of Chris Froome running up the mountain following a crash with Richie Porte and the crash on the slippery descent during Stage 19.
The collage includes the finish of Stage 8 where Chris Froome claimed an audacious stage win breaking away on the descent to steal vital seconds and claim the yellow jersey. The 2 time trials – a second place in the long Stage 13 time trial – losing out to Tom Domoulin – and the Stage 18 time trial win. Images of the brutal climbs in both the Alps and Pyrenees are also included. Chris Froome owes his victory to the support of his team mates and this is reflected in the image of him locking hands with Team Sky colleague and fellow British rider Geraint Thomas as they cross the finish line in Paris.
The collage is available as 32” x 20” photographic print with all the caption information in place, as a frame ready 36” x 24” mount or fully framed at approx.. 39” x 27”.
