CHILDREN HELPIN THE POTATO HARVEST, Farmers all over the country urgently need more helpers to bring in the potato harvest, which is said to be very good one. Schoolchildren are being released in some areas to help the farmers. In Warwickshire some 2,000 children are being released to gather the potato harvest. They do five days or ten half half days, and are paid 1s. 1d per hour. They live in camps where meals and board is provided.
