Paul Gascoigne affectionately known as "Gazza" remains one of the most popular sporting figures in English sport - born in 1967 in Gateshead, his career began at Newcastle before joining Tottenham Hotspur - famously scoring a sensational long-range free kick to help them reach the 1991 FA Cup Final.
